On October 11th and 12th, 2022, TVFood Co., Ltd. participated in the National Program on Rice Trade Promotion in the Ivory Coast. The goal was to create conditions for Vietnamese rice export businesses to meet and work directly with rice importers in the Ivory Coast. Representatives from TVFood also visited some major warehouses and seaports in this market to learn about how rice is transported, distributed, retailed, and consumed by local users.

At the seminar, Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, the Deputy General Director of the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, the Chairman of the Vietnam Food Association, briefly introduced Vietnam’s rice export situation in the first 8 months of 2022. They also answered questions from importers in the Ivory Coast.
After the workshop, TVFood introduced the company’s clean, safe, and high-quality rice products to importers in the Ivory Coast.
On the same afternoon, TVFood Co., Ltd., along with various departments and a number of Vietnamese businesses, participated in a working session. This session included leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ivory Coast, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ivory Coast.
At this meeting, Mr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ivory Coast, spoke and introduced the import-export situation between Vietnam and the Ivory Coast. He stated that Vietnam accounts for 14% of the total trade value in the Ivory Coast.
Importantly, the Ivory Coast’s representatives hope that Vietnamese businesses will promote direct investment in agricultural production in this region, taking advantage of preferential tariff policies. This includes supporting the use of arable land to exploit unused fertile agricultural land and create job opportunities for workers..
Also at this meeting, Mr. Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ivory Coast, spoke and expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He stated that in 2021, the Ivory Coast imported 430,000 MT of rice from Vietnam, mainly white rice and fragrant rice. However, in just the first 8 months of 2022, the import volume reached 489,000 MT, a sharp increase compared to the previous year.
Additionally, he expressed his hope that in the future, the Vietnamese government and businesses will invest in machinery and share their rice cultivation experience to improve national food reserves in the event of potential conflicts.
On the morning of October 12th, 2022, TVFood participated in a meeting and worked with the largest enterprise in the Ivory Coast, S.D.T.M C.I, and also visited their warehouse.
On the afternoon of October 12th, 2022, TVFood Co., Ltd. visited Abidjan Port, the largest autonomous seaport in West Africa.
TVFood Co., Ltd. participated in survey activities and conducted research on the rice distribution system in Abidjan.
